Virtual Dedicated Server (VDS)
Why VDS?
More Secure and Stable than Virtual Hosting (Shared Web Hosting)
Different from shared hosting which stores hundreds of users in the
same directory, the data within your VDS cannot be accessed by other
users on the same physical server. For added stability, VDS
technology completely isolates each VDS for the server resources.
Same features as a dedicated server
Each VDS has it's own independent operating system with isolated
instances of web server, database server, mail server and all
installed software. A crashed application (e.g. web server) in
another client's VDS has no effect on your VDS.
Highest Flexibility
Given to you the administrative privileges of the operating system,
you can have a full control to the server. You can install any
software (e.g. database server) and modifying the configuration of
the server (e.g. adding website) at anytime.
Shared Hosting vs. Virtual Dedicated Hosting
Shared Hosting
With a Shared hosting environment, hundreds of web accounts can be on
the same server. Since all of the accounts are on the same server,
they share the same operating system and applications.
VDS
VDS has its own operating system and can have almost the same
function as the full server.
